One industry source puts Indonesia at roughly 45% of global South Sea pearl production. Indonesian market studies report IDR 100,000 to IDR 5,000,000 per gram across all types and grades.
How volume breaks change the price
Sorting, grading, quarantine inspection and export papers cost about the same for 100 grams as for 3 kilograms, so larger lots cost less per gram and earn priority allocation.

- Every Lombok pearl shipment is physically inspected by BKIPM Mataram, which issues a Health Certificate. Below about 50 grams, that and the export file eat the price advantage.

The gap between retail and wholesale
Wholesale lots trade by weight, before finishing, matching and retail overhead. A 12 mm round of about 2.5 grams in the fine band at IDR 400,000 per gram costs roughly IDR 1,000,000 loose.
Set, matched, boxed and sold at a counter, comparable pearls ask several multiples of that. The difference pays for labour, matching stock and margin, not better nacre. Pearls are merchandise, not an investment product.
